The Air Cargo Challenge was originally launched in 2003, inspired by North American DBF (design-build-fly) competitions. The competition is held every two years, with the goal of carrying the maximum payload as quickly as possible using an unmanned aircraft. The previous winners, Akamodell Stuttgart and Euroavia Stuttgart, will host the next ACC2026 competition, which will take place in Stuttgart in 2026.
Since 2007, the competition has been Europe-wide. The Finnish team Albatross Tampere from Tampere University participated in the competition in 2019, 2022, and 2024. You can read the 2024 report here. The next competition will be held in Stuttgart in 2026, and the team will start recruiting members in autumn 2025.
